I was at the climbing wall Tuesday before last when a friend of a friend whom I'd met the previous week said "We're going to the Gower this weekend. Why don't you come along?" I said "OK", and a plan was devised. I'd leave my bike at his house and we'd drive down in his van, meeting some others there. I was to do some of the driving, which is always a novelty for me, being far more used to two wheels than four.
We set out on Friday night about 8.00, a long drive through pouring rain to arrive at the campsite at midnight. The rain stopped as we arrived, and we enjoyed a beer looking o
